About Us
Scatter Creek Bed & Breakfast is in the country,
but town isn't far away.
Sally has lived most of her life within miles of where her family settled in 1846 in what is now Washington State.  Bob has been more itinerant and has lived in Maryland, Florida, Oregon, Illinois and Washington.   After living in Seattle together for a number of years,  we moved home to Tenino.

We are avid travelers and birdwatchers and have created a place we are happy to come home to!

The property is a Certified Wildlife Sanctuary and we are uniquely situated near lots of open space, forest and marsh lands.  We are out in south Thurston county, not far from Olympia.  We are easy to find and in addition to being close to the small town of Tenino, the amenities of several good-sized towns and cities are close by.  Within a 15-25 minute radius are Yelm, Olympia, Tumwater, Lacey, Centralia and Chehalis.
Whether you are traveling north- or southbound, it's easy to get here from I-5.  You get off the freeway, head toward Tenino, and after a peaceful night or two in the country, you can get back on the freeway having just saved yourself 15 miles of freeway driving!

The small town of Tenino is a little over a mile away with its historical downtown buildings made of locally quarried sandstone.  There's  an interesting mix of restaurants, antique stores, a wine-tasting room, a chocolate shop, a nice grocery store and a family-owned and operated drug store.
You can even check out a bicycle for free in downtown Tenino and ride the extensive trail system that connects to the Chehalis-Western Trail.

We are on the Bountiful Byway - a route through agricultural lands in south Thurston county. Check it out:
